About Me

Inspired by the weathered surfaces of ancient European sculpture, my practice moves between painting and ceramics to explore aging, growth, and decay. I am drawn to patina, cracks, and erosion—marks that hold time within them and reveal the beauty of imperfection. Surface becomes both subject and material, shaped by gesture, touch, and chance.

My work is informed through engagement with classical Renaissance sculpture. One example is Narciso by Valerio Cioli, a late sixteenth-century sculpture I began photographing from multiple angles. I am drawn to figures from Greek and Roman mythology for both their symbolic narratives and their aesthetic vulnerability: softened, fractured forms—bodies altered by centuries of exposure. This is one reference among many, but it reflects my broader interest in how objects portray history.

Through these processes, I hope to unearth a deeper connection to my Italian roots and reflect on my relationship with aging and identity, inviting viewers to reconsider society’s discomfort with decay through both the visceral and contemplative experience.
